About Sudbury Gasworks Restoration Trust
The Gasworks Sudbury was built c. 1874 and produced gas for Sudbury Hall and many houses in the village, until being dismantled in the 1930s and falling into disrepair.
In 2013, a group of local volunteers set out to rescue the building from collapse. Ten years later, with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and others, the building has been restored to its former glory, and is now open to the public.
