Overview

The company’s activities will provide benefit to young and older members of the community within the Derbyshire Dales that may be experiencing impaired/poor mental health or emotional distress. All people within all communities can experience emotional difficulties at times and we aim to provide a broad range of therapeutic activities to support different issues/needs. The project seeks to provide a quality service through sound practices facilitated by an Occupational Therapist and Counsellor/psychotherapist, particularly for those whose needs are not met by available community services. Having recently received Awards for All Funding, we are to run a Care Farming (Matlock) project for older adults with dementia/mental health needs commencing in October 2017. This will provide Therapeutic activities that connect with nature, animals and people, to support health and wellbeing and will be facilitated by an experienced Occupational Therapist, Counsellor/Psychotherapist and dedicated/trained volunteers within a supportive and therapeutic environment… The project also aims to : – Support individuals caring for the older adult accessing this project. – Provide volunteering opportunities.
